The Word V/s The
World
By Stan Abraham
Dear fellow believer, Greetings to you in the incomparable
name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I thank you for taking the time to read this
article and I pray that our Father in Heaven may guide you with every word that flows
through this paper. I hope that this article touches your life in some way. May your
relationship with the Creator be strengthened.
The Lord has been talking with me for some time now about all the things that have been
going on in this world. There is a great burden that is placed on our hearts concerning
all the tragedies that have taken place during the past few months. The tragedies have
left many wondering and others seeking. Some people are wondering if there really is a God
and others are seeking the God that needs to be found.
Tragedies like the Littleton school shooting, the killing of innocent people in Kososve,
and many others, have made me think about the life we live. The life is not a dream, we
can not open our eyes and find out we were sleeping. The life we live is very real. People
are dying because they tried to please the world. To live up to the world's standards they
have done many things against their will, the things they do may not be pleasing to
themselves or to God. This means that people have given into Satan's desire. His desire is
for us to be like him, and for us to leave our maker and follow him. Many people, as we
can see, have already been lead on by this temptation. Let us not be one of those people.
The world is turning too fast and it is about time we as humans caught up. We need to
catch up with our lives, this means that we need to recognize who we are and what we are
doing here. The world is something we can try to transform but we cannot completely change
it without the intervention of the Lord. Once the Lord helps us to overcome this world and
move on, we are able to resist temptation. All of God's creation will be able to praise
Him only.
What separates the Word from the world? Is it just one letter that separates the two? We
can see that one letter does separate the two, but that is only by looking at them with
our human eyes. If we look at the words with our spiritual eyes we will see that there is
a great difference. Both words are powerful. They both have great difference. Without the
two we would not be alive. The word will outlive the world and all that is in it. The book
of Revelation is an example of this. This book shows us what is to come. In fact all of
the New Testament shows us that being of the world and not knowing the word will not get
us to Heaven (closer to God) Romans 12:2 says, "Do not
be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may
prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
The world may give us pleasure with all its materials, but God gives comfort and joy. The
world has given killers the instinct to kill, and offered war during times of peace. The
word has given believers the instinct to save and peace during times of war. The many
people that claimed to be of this world went straight back in to it. They will be there
till Judgment Day.
There are a lot of people out there that haven't heard the word. Let them hear it through
you and me. God help us to do thy will, help us to be the light in times o darkness. Help
us to call on your name and help others see who you really are. Lord help to submit to
your word and not to the world. Help us to live each day knowing our purpose in this land
we call home. Help us to pray and wait for the answers. Help to LOVE each other and live
the way he want us to live. Help us to keep the faith. In your precious name we pray,
Amen.
