When we spend time in prayer we can hear God's voice. God tells the things which is going to come, or the things which the enemy has planned for us. Elisha was a prophet of God. He could know the plans of the enemy. Why? because God used to tell him what the enemy has planned to do in the near future. Is it not marvelous? 2 King 6:12, "And one of his servants said, 'None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.'

When I was in India a few years back, one day we got a letter saying, " our department need this information within 15 days, if you fail to reply we will send people to search your house to get this information." We were surprised to see that letter because only my dad could reply that letter & he was in USA. We knew that some body falsely complained against us. Now the only option left was prayer, I knew that only God can solve this problem. I prayed "Lord what to do, what is it.? And during prayer time Lord said "do this & you will get rid of this problem." God's reply looked very funny & strange.," I thought Is this so simple? Any way we did what the Lord said that day. That night I saw a dream, in the dream I saw a lady who was in our colony. And I knew that she was the person who did all these things. She looked outwardly very friendly, I never thought that she will do such things. Next day I and mom were talking with that lady as usual. After some time she discussed the same matter, which was in the letter, and told, that department sends inquiry letters to people. And I knew that the dream was from God.

Lord not only gave the solution of the problem, but showed who is behind it, so that in the future we can be careful. we indeed came out of that problem, after that we did not receive any letter and nobody came to do any inquiry. What a great God we have, God knows every thing.

Do you spend time in prayer ? Does God speak to you, if not get this great experience. Spend time in the presence of God. And you will hear the voice of God. Confirm it whether it is from your mind or from God, confirm it with scriptures it should not contradict scriptures. and as time goes on and when you grow in the spiritual field you will hear God's voice very frequently even every day, every hour and every minute. You can have this experience.

Remember if you are not saved or born again you will not able to hear the voice of God. Because God does not speak to strangers. Get saved, repent from your sins and pray to the Lord. Lord save my soul, wash me with your precious blood and make me your child and give me a place in heaven. Amen

3. God speaks through dreams:
Bible says that God speaks through dreams. If we read about Joseph. He was a man of God. Once he saw a dream Gen 37:5-10, "Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. So he said to them, 'Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: "There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf." And his brothers said to him, "Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me." So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?"

God showed the dream to Joseph about what is going to happen in the future. And we read that after many years the dream came to pass, when his brothers came to buy food during the seven years famine. Gen 42:6, "Now Joseph was governor over the land; and it was he who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph's brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the earth."

  God speaks through dream. Yes even today He speaks through dreams. I want to share one of my experience with you.

I was in India. I was looking for job. One day a person told about a job, the job seemed to be good & salary also looked very good. I made up my mind for that job, but as usual I wanted to know the will of God. So I prayed that night, " Lord what is your will in this matter. What to do with this job, whether I join this job or not ? I prayed & went to bed.

That night I saw a horrible dream. In the dream I saw that I am in some office or in grocery store, and some body is chasing me, and I was running here & there to hide myself. While I was running in dream, I woke up. I found myself trembling due to fear, and my whole body was sweating. After that I could not sleep for a long time. And I knew that, the job was not for me. In the morning again I prayed & decided not to join the job. After a month or so I got another job and I joined though the salary was very much less (less than 1/3) than the previous one. Months passed & I forgot all about that dream. One day as I was reading news paper, to my surprise there was a main heading in the front page. It said that "police sealed the institution because of lot of fraud work & mishandling of money." And they published the names of the employees who were working with that institution, & some of the girls were known to me. Then only I knew that why God showed that dream & why God said no, for that job.

We see only the things which are in front of us, but God looks beyond that, God knows every thing, He knows what is going to happen in the future. And God protects His children from all danger.

4. Getting messages from God:
Are you a servant of God? Are you an evangelist? Are you a pastor? Do you minister to God? Do you preach the gospel of Jesus Christ? If so it is very important thing for you. Now the question is how to prepare the messages? How to know the mind and heart of God? How to know that the things which you are preaching is from God or not? How to know, whether the message is from God or it is only the garbage of your mind? Here I am trying to give answers of these vital questions.

1.  Once a person told, "every message preached from pulpit is from God. Every word spoken by a person from pulpit is from God." WRONG!!!

2.  Another person told, "I find 3-4 books of good writers. Read it and take some good matter from hear and there and mix it and prepare a good message and preach. WRONG!!! It is the wrong way to prepare message, if you take 2-3 messages from hear and there and mix it and make a good Avial (mixing 3-4 vegetables together and preparing a dish) and think that God is speaking it does not work that way.

3.  Some say, "I read the word of God a particular portion and meditate on it then prepare a message and that's it, it is the God's message given by God." WRONG!!! It is not God who spoke but it is the meditation of your own mind. You might have meditated on the topic of "PEACE" but may be God wanted to give the message on "FORGIVENESS OF SINS". That is the difference.

So what to do now? How can I know what God wants me to speak?

(i) Sitting at the feet of God and knowing the mind of God:
Yes it can be done only by prayer. No short cuts. If you want to know the will of God, if you want to know the mind of God, if you want to know what to preach it can be done only by prayers. Only God knows what kind of crowd is coming, what kind of need they have, what type of sicknesses they have, what kind of counsel they need. Only God knows, only God can tell it, nobody else can. Spend hours together with Lord and He will tell you what to preach.

Today people do not need philosophy, or a message which comes from the mind of a man, but they need the message which comes from God, a heavenly counsel which can change the heart, Godly solution which can remove the problems, which can bring deliverance and peace. God is looking for such people, who can sit at the feet of God and spend time with Him and get the messages from Him. As we see, Moses waited for 40 days in the presence of God on Mount Sinai, just to hear God's counsel for the people.

(ii) Fasting:
Second thing, messages should be prepared with fasting and prayer. Mark 9:28, says- "And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, "Why could we not cast it out?" Mark 9:29, says- "So He said to them, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.""NO FASTING NO POWER, NO PRAYER NO POWER" Lord Jesus said the same thing when His disciples asked Him why they could not cast out the demon. What the Lord said, "without fasting and prayer it can not come out." That is the key of powerful messages. Bible says Lord Jesus prayed night after night on Mount olives, He is God Himself. If He needed this much of prayer why not we? Lord Jesus started His ministry with 40 days of fasting. If He needed it why not we?
